Andrew J Brooks

Dr Andrew Brooks is the Group Leader of the Cytokine Receptor Signalling Group at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute (Australia) within the Translational Research Institute. His research interests are in cytokine receptors, cell signalling, immunology, and oncogenesis. His current research team focuses on the molecular mechanisms of class I cytokine receptor activation including the growth hormone receptor (GHR), thrombopoietin receptor (TpoR/MPL), IL-7 receptor, and IL-6 receptor (IL-6R). In addition, his team is investigating the regulation of inflammation by HLA-G. His research has led to publications in journals including Science, Blood, Oncogene, Nature Cell Biology, and PNAS. Andrew has been the recipient of over $3.8 million in research grant funding and has a number of national and international collaborations. He is an Editorial Board member for the Journal Cancers and was previously a committee member of Australian Early-Mid Career Researchers Forum (AEMCRF) launched by the Australian Academy of Science.
