Peter Mace
Dr Peter Mace is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Following graduate and postdoctoral studies at Otago, Dr Mace completed a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the United States Department of Defense at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in San Diego, California.
Dr Mace returned to Otago upon receiving a Rutherford Discovery Fellowship in 2013, and has since established a lab investigating various target proteins involved in phosphorylation and ubiquitination. Using a combination of structural, biochemical and biophysical approaches Dr Mace’s research focuses on three major areas in the context of cancer and inflammatory signalling: control of stress-activated MAP kinases, ubiquitin-based regulation of Tribbles pseudokinases, and function of the polycomb-repressive deubiquitinase complex.
