I work as a Research Officer within the Inflammasome Laboratory headed by Associate Professor Kate Schroder at the Institute for Molecular Biosciences, University of Queensland. After receiving my Ph.D. in 2013 from the University of Sydney where I investigated virulence factors associated to Mycobacterium tuberculosis latency, I joined the IMB to undertake my postdoctoral studies. My research now focuses in pathogen interactions with the inflammasome, a protein complex essential in antimicrobial defense mechanisms and injury repair, with a particular interest in imaging such encounters in macrophages and neutrophils.
